The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has more than just a fancy display; inside the application processor sports the usual pop memory but it is actually a complete memory system. It includes both 3GB LPDDR3 SDRAM and 32GB NAND flash. Combining RAM and flash in the pop top package over the application process saves over 40% of the PCB board space compared to past configurations that popped the RAM but had separately packaged NAND flash. The bottom Pop is effected though: due to the higher pin count, a popped bottom package is required. This means the final result is a triple popped package. The APQ8084 is an example of a pop bottom package capable of using the dual memory pop top.
